Find out moreDesigned to create the perfect preparation for the application of Weber Render Systems, this ready-mixed Weberend Bead Adhesive rapidly fixes corner beads, drip beads, stop beads and expansion beads, enabling Deferral M, Deferral D, Deferral MF and Weberend OCR to be applied flawlessly.
Depending on the ambient temperature, the beads can sufficiently be set within two hours of application to prepare the wall for rendering to be applied. This fast-curing adhesive will allow for render profile beads to fix to virgin masonry substrates. To make your adhesive, gradually add the powder to clean water and mix using a drill, then whisk until a good consistency is achieved. This 20kg bag will typically require 4.4 litres of clean water. Only mix sufficient material that can be used within 30 minutes to avoid waste. Don't attempt to extend pot life by adding additional water.
Before applying, ensure all surfaces are clean, sound and free from any interference with the adhesion. Gradually add the powder to clean water and mix using a drill and whisk until a good consistency is achieved. For full adhesion, dabs of material should be applied directly to the substrate at no less than 300mm centres apart. A dab is a bed of material to the width of the bead wing (40mm) which should be approximately 100mm long and to a minimum thickness of 15mm. Press the bead firmly into the freshly applied dabs with a trowel and ensure the bead wing is completely embedded. Then, trowel excess material away.
The bead adhesive needs to be set back from the nose of the profile to ensure render coverage of at least 10mm to 12mm. The bead should be sufficiently set in two hours at 20°C. Render profile beads should be set out to reflect the render thickness requirements of the exposure category. For sheltered to moderate exposure, a minimum of 15mm thick finished render is recommended. For severe elevations, a 20mm thickness is needed. All tools should be cleaned straight after use and waste material should not be emptied into drainage systems. Based on average usage for fixing beads, one bag should be sufficient for 45 linear meters of beads in sporadic dabbing.
