Our zellige tiles are a beautifully crafted collection ranging in colour, shape, and finish.
Zellige tiles originate as far back as the 10th Century, popularised by the Western Islamic world when they were used in stunning mosaics, and decorated mosques and other sacred and historical buildings. They originally acquired their name from many translations, including 'tile', 'little polished stone' and 'fired clay', although today they are often made from porcelain and ceramic.
A zellige tile can be defined by its rustic appearance, for example, imperfections to the finish, unique colours, and individual finishes. You will find that with many of the zellige tiles we stock, no two tiles are the same, giving you that naturally worn effect that is incredibly on-trend today. Experiment with different colours including greens, blues and oranges, to give your space a new lease of life whilst maintaining a homey and lived-in feel.
